| ‘Verdant Veen’ is a lovely parish, shaped a bit like a fat lady’s boot (size 11). It contains The Tower, from which Arbiters and their operatives can monitor residents islandwide, using all the latest innovations, which include wet-valves, underpumps and drip-drip technology. The Tower connects to all tessellators across Jinsy and allows for audio-visual watching and listening, to promote safety, harmony and swift fine-payment to everyone. The Tower was originally made of wood and shaped more like a flaccid bell until a competition saw successful candidate Pickun Lacy, a prodigy of only 42 cycles, redesigning it with wax, sheep-fat, trempersest and reconstituted garkite stone – creating the familiar shape we see today. Veen also offers the scenic plunge of Doker’s Quarry, situated at the Chen Inlet, where people often go to see what’s floating there, and have their together-bread picnics. Doker’s used to be a rich source of white yoomeliand, until all veins were exhausted. |
